piddles and puddles

Mia Needs a home contact adoptions@themuttscouts.com if interested!!!

so there is the greatest news. jack is adopted this week to that LOVELY lady i was telling you about. I am so beyond happy for him. I will get some pictures and post them soon. Good Job Jack-o.

now lil' lugosi needs a chance and Roslyn. Farrah soon, but she needs surgery.

I am very upset in the post below i was telling you about chloe and calvin the couple brought in together. well...calvin was adopted yesterday ALONE. Chloe will be devastated, they put her in a kennel with another senior, maybe she might feel comforted, but i am sure her lil' heart is broken. Nikki wants to get her, i guess will see.

tired.

Contact risworld@hotmail.com or call WLA at (310) 207-3156 for more informat ion about these sweeties...

Chloe and Calvin have been at the West LA shelter since January 27th. This bonded pair were surrendered together and our goal is to keep them together.

Both dogs are older, sweet, calm and loving- they get along with other dogs, have not been tested with cats. The shelter website has them listed as 4 years old, but its more like 8 years old. With time ticking away we are afraid they will be seperated...or ... and they love each other so much.

Can anyone help keep this wonderful couple TOGETHER forever?

Calvin: Lab Mix, animal ID #A853127 neutered male

I am almost to tired to write, but I haven't updated in a few days. Today was more exhausting than could have thought and it was incredibly rough, but the ending was nice. I met the nicest couple...they adopted plum, she is an amazing photographer as well...check out her website:
  • Cyrstal Cartier Photography

  • maybe plum will be a famous photo pup one day. Alot of the pups were adopted today, also Gertie and paddie will be finalized this week. And my favourite Jack went on a trial and it will be decided tomorrow if she takes him. I LOVE this lady, i hope so much it will work out. She would be so perfect for him. He is a charming little man, who couldn't love him. I sure do miss him, even though it is nice to have a lighter house for a few days. So now it is important for us to continue figuring out how to get money for the surgeries. The money from all the adoptions will help, but still not enough. It will all work out though, it has too.
well...I am so beyond tired and this week seems to be pretty busy, so everyone enjoy the sun this week, take your dog for a walk and breathe in the fresh air. Remember to always live in the present.

    Woof!

    sisters...

these are the two sisters we rescued yesterday. they are the cutest lil' old ladies ever. they could never be split up, you can tell they love each other more than anything. the red one fell asleep in the car right after we got them out, it was as if she was just so relieved to be out, like she had spent all her energy protecting her sister, the exhaustion consumed her and she finally had peace. I had never seen anything like it. There was just so much cuteness going on in the car.

I am terribly excited, i bought a bike at a thrift store yesterday, so the dogs and I will attempt to ride today. should look into a helmet with these lil' nutfangs riding with me.
here are some pics of the chi pups for adoption soon.

    charlie girl

    (charlie girl)

nikki is off dogsitting this weekend, tomorrow we bring the rescued mom and pups to their foster. Also Jf and I are going to the shelter to pick up some blankets for baldwin park and to see duchess and charlie.

nikki said we could get her, i can't stop thinking about her, yes a little (well...probably alot obsessive-haha)
i don't want her to go to a home and be stuck in a yard. she won me over when she flirted her eyes at me and did a little dance back to her cave. She was so shy yet wanted to say hello, but the shyness won. she was brought in the shelter in a zerox box and just sat there waiting...in the box.

so needless to say, i am looking forward to seeing her tomorrow (and getting better pictures!). although i won't want to leave her, if i have to it won't be for long.
    hang in there charlie girl.

    everything makes a difference

    The Legend of the Starfish
As the young man walked on the beach in the early morning hours, he noticed an old man ahead of him, walking along the beach. Every so often, he bent over and picked up something and gently tossed it into the ocean. He repeated this process over and over. Finally, catching up with the old man, the young man saw that he had picked up a starfish, stranded by the tides, and was preparing to throw it back into the ocean. He asked what he was doing and the old man explained that the stranded starfish would die when the morning sun grew hotter. The young man looked down the endless beach. He knew that there were thousands of starfish stranded on this shore on this particular morning. Curious, he asked the old man,"The beach goes on for miles and there are thousands of starfish, so how can your effort make any difference?" The old man looked at the starfish in his hand and then tossed it into the waves. "It makes a difference to this one!"

    Sweet like sugar

Nikki and Jf went to San Diego today for Betty's eye appt. Lets hope for the best. it is so expensive and well... i guess we just need to stay positive that we can raise the funds. And then we begin on Francie mcmanus and Farrah.
Farrah was breaking my heart the other day the way she walked looked SO painful and uncomfortable. and let me tell you she is the SWEETEST!!! dog ever! We have such good dogs right now. We had a meet the other day and thought i would post some pics of all the dogs lounging.

It wil get better Black...you'll see.

I love this dog...ever since he was a pup in the shelter. he looked so sad and skinny and he was still wee. and when i saw that he had come back ...much bigger, it made me sad. He is a good boy, he does need training to be taught manners, which no one has taken the time to teach him, instead they just dump him. He has lost a lot of weight, you can see all his ribs again and his face is gaunt, he doesn't greet me with so much energy anymore, he just sits there. like he is asking why? "why can't somebody love me, why can't somebody take the time to teach me and walk me. not stick me in a yard" He is breaking my heart, i can't stop thinking of him.

    just keeps gettin' crazier...

So we have received some lovely donations for Baldwin Park...We were going to go down there a couple days ago and we ran across this stray pup...long story short, We ended up tracking her and crawled under a house(the smallest crawl space EVER) and saved her 6 pups and finally captured her. she was so relieved. BUT NOW we need a foster...
    Any takers...email adoptions@themuttscouts.com
here is the poster for that:

We took the trap back to North Central and took some more pics, so here is a start to the new batch of posters... made four today...more to come!
