sometimes it just sucks

we went to south central shelter the other day. We were there for probably five hours, the time just gets away from you. as always, we all picked our favourites, took them outside or just took tons of pics. i was taken by this little baby SKINNY pit, who was being terrorized by this little shep mix. i took tons of pics, and at the end of the day roxy had him moved to a different kennel. the next morning i was working on her plea, i looked online for her info and just like that gone.i knew. it was monday, they day all the big killings go on. i called, she cleared her voice, like she didn't want to tell me a baby had just been killed. so i said it... and she said yes, i cried. it hurt. it has been a while. south doesn't fuck around. the shelter just sucks. i can't wait for our animal sanctuary.

north nosed

north central dogs are not moving...meaning lots of dogs have been there since nov/dec or even before. so i am networking both north and east for a while. i have had to many pics just sitting there and they could be helping get the dogs out.so here it goes.

well the last two days I have been sick as a dog. ha sometimes I wonder where that comment came from and really what it means..oh well. It sucks being sick. and then my lil' edi was bitten by something and I had to run and get her a benedryl. I am making first aide kits for us. so important to have those things handy in emergency situations. so just after one day, nikki with her postings got that lil' mangy one eyed pup out. good job! and buddy and davey are not on the site either. I am hoping they were adopted at the strut for mutt event. I want to make it to the shelter this week, but i have been working so much and not having my computer with all my programs is really putting a dent in my rescue work. I will be moving to las vegas soon, expanding the muttscouts, i guess. haha! only for a while though, to save for the farm. I am finding it really hard to leave my shelter animals though. i know that may sound weird, and in the long run it will be better, we will be able to come to the shelters and just say ok... we will take that one and that one, oh! and that one! haha! maybe the vegas dogs will be happy to see me, network that area for a while.
we just need to finish up our 501c3 process and work on getting sponsors. i think once i am settled in the move, alot more will get done at least on my end. living in transition right now, it is hard to do anything.

oh what a day.

sometimes forgotten

It is so easy to get caught up in ourselves and our immediate surroundings, that we forget to breathe, we forget to smile and enjoy what has been given us. I forget to smile alot, especially lately. Our dogs feed off our energy, if we are depressed they are depressed and so on. I try lately no matter what to smile to the ones i love the most. and if i don't feel like smiling, we turn on some music and dance, which makes everyone excited and makes us all happy. I am really attached to the girls. it seems to be the older dogs and the needy which make it really hard for me, but if they could find a home like sage, they would be so happy and that would leave room for more older and needy dogs to come into my home. My crew has been such a blessing in teaching the new dogs and also making them feel comfortable. even lil' edi has been the best at teaching and getting dogs to play, they really never new how to play.
so today if you can. smile at someone, it may change their day, even if it is a lil' critter. '
