I was checking emails today and came across the Cutest lady. This sweet lady saw Sonya's picture on a pet forum and was touched by her sad little face. She makes collars and wanted to make one for Sonya. Meeting people like this is so inspiring!
she then told me about her dogs and sent the CUTEST picture. So I want to share her story, to remind us that there are good people in this world.
    Here is what Julie wrote:
My last Rottie was adopted as an adult, had
been in 3 homes, and was abused by men...she ended up being the sweetest,
most even keeled dog I've ever owned (or been owned by). We lost her 3 years
ago to cancer. I have since adopted another doggie named Ava, a rottie mix,
who well...this photo of her with my newest addition explains it all (an
orphaned kitten born in my backyard (1 of a litter of 5 I bottledfed and
rehomed) compliments of my neighbors un-neutered cats - born with a leg
deformity that has already cost us $1000 and a billion trips to the vet..but
    that's another story..):

Anyway, I literally snapped this pic a few minutes ago and had to share with
someone, hehe. Ava was abandoned as a puppy on a rural highway in kentucky
and suffers from seperation anxiety but is otherwise the best dog ever...It
never ceases to amaze me what people are capable of doing to animals.

Here's a photo of Dani - the kitten in the photo with Ava (you can see her
leg deformity here...) We named her Dani after the character "Daniel" from
the movie karate kid...you know the scene where he practices the "crane
kick" out in front of the ocean? Well, since she has his strong fighting
spirit and a permanent crane-kick stance, we thought it was cute. She's also
very tiny weighing in at only 2 1/2 lbs when she should be over 4 by
now...but we love her. As you can see Ava loves her just as much!

    hoarding reality.

    *************
    Stop Cindy Bemis
    (photos are graphic)
    *****
This situation just makes me physically sick. We went to Baldwin park months and months ago to network some dogs. When we got there, we realized there were 100 seized dogs from the Hoarder Cindy Bemis, whom has been charged with hoarding before. The conditions of these animals made me sick already deprived from medical care, food, and proper attention these animals for 18 months now have had to endure sleeping on the cold, wet floor in the small cages of the shelter. I immediately fell in love with this great dane girl, she broke my heart. I felt so helpless, because there was nothing we could do. This lady is fighting to get these dogs back, even though she has been caught doing this before.
Here are a couple photos I took of my dane girl. I think of her often. It is images like these that make me press forward, knowing that the sacrifice made now will be worth the reward later. Having a place where sad souls like this dane can come and get better to then find a home where they will be loved forever. That image makes this all worth while.

We felt so bad for these huge dogs being cold we collected blankets from such generous people. The staff was so greatful that people cared about these forgotten dogs. To be stuck in a cage for 2 years. no love. no exercise, no sun. it just isn't fair.

    here is his info...
    received from cat-chat-bounces@caltech.edu
Max a sweet 12 year old boy was dumped by his owner in the shelter. He was pulled and is now living and sleeping outside in a doghouse at a sanctuary. He needs to be in a warm home.
Please help find Max a foster home. Contact Sylva if you can help. 818-954-0800.

I have been a little slow on posting as of late, but I will be getting back to my daily jibber this week.

Nikki's birthday is today! I hope she is having the best time! We were able to see her this week as she was in Los Angeles bringing Chloe to a potential home that so far is working out, but honestly, who would not just love that wrinkle face. Chloe deserves the best!

I know I can't be the only one with crazies, but being home so much lately, I have seen the funniest personalities come about. Ansli and her glove fetish, Edi~obsessed with blankets that come Right out of the dryer, Sally, she starts shaking like a leaf if she has to go out and potty, so I have to put a sweater on her, Millie and her Huge celebration dance when I walk in the door. oh! geez. I could go on, but these critters make me smile, I love them so much I could squeeze the stuffing out of them. ha!

remember~DONATE your blankets etc...to a local shelter. It is freezing out there.

    aches and pains..oh my.

(pics from my long trek today)

I walked 7 miles round trip to the post office to mail nikki's gift. I think I am even too tired to write. Banjo was adopted last week and Farah is meeting someone tomorrow. Nikki posted a couple incredibly beautiful pics of Lake Tahoe on her blog, I miss the water. Some new pics of Sonya are up on the front page of The MuttScouts Website.
***DON'T FORGET*** it is getting cold for the shelter dogs and sleeping on the hard, cold, wet floor is no picnic. So if you have any newspaper, blankets, towels, bedding, toys and treats or anything...donate them to your local shelter.
I will pick up and accept any kind of donations for the Las Vegas Area...a little Holiday drive if you will.
